bomb blasts in Guwahati
At least 18 people have been injured in three blasts that rocked Birubari, Bhootnath and Bhangagarh areas of Guwahati in Assam, just ahead of Home Minister P Chidambaram's visit. (Watch)About 12 people were injured in a suspected cycle bomb blast in Bhootnath area. This blast occurred on the route the Home Minister would have taken. Three people were injured following a blast in a dustbin in Birubari. Official sources said an Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) kept in a Gauhati Municipal Corporation dustbin went off at around 3.30 pm. The dusbin was kept near A TB hospital. The injured were admitted to the hospital and identified as Altaf Ali, Fatema Begum and Raul Ali.The blast at Bhangagarh took place in front of Big Bazar outlet. The state witnessed serial blasts on October 30, which led to over 61 deaths. (With PTI inputs)

acid attacked swapnika dies in hospital
She fought a desperate battle to live in a hospital in Secunderabad in Andhra Pradesh. But her injuries were too serious.
Finally at 5 o'clock on Wednesday morning, she died.
Swapnika, a final year engineering student, was a victim of an acid attack less than two weeks ago in Warrangal.
Her condition had been very critical for the last few days and she was on ventilator.
Swapnika, along with her friend Pranitha, had been seriously injured when three boys threw acid on them. Her friend Pranitha is still in a hospital, recovering.
Swapnika had been critical for the last few days but there a very tragic end to this young life.
A lot of anger had been seen in Hyderabad after the case and the boys who were accused of throwing acid on the two girls had allegedly been killed in an encounter.
